Seals in Thames estuary

Grey seal (Mateusz Wiodarczyk/Wiki Commons)
Harbour or common seal (Andreas Trepte/Wiki Commons

It is heartening to read that more than 700 seals have been counted in the Thames Estuary. This is the first thorough investigation by conservationists surveying the river from the North Sea to Tilbury under the auspices of the Zoological Society of London. The numbers were roughly 500 harbour seals to 200 of the larger grey seals.
