Well, the lock gates at St Katharine Docks are obviously working perfectly well. Yesterday they brought a host of classic yachts, ketches, sloops, brigs, bawley boats and barges to the dock, like the motor launch pictured here – though the road bridge seems to have gone missing. Today and tomorrow the dock is
en fête, the bunting all a-breeze and the boats looking their best. There are detailed descriptions of the boats posted on the railings around the dock. A visit to the replica Phoenician ship that sailed around the Cape of Good Hope is worth the £4 visitor charge.
