Tales of the Thames at Somerset House

Saturday, May 19:  Somerset House has a day of writers' talks titled Tales of the Thames. Speakers include Andrew Motion, Dan Cruickshank and Iain Sinclair, who will end the day with a performance based on a pedalo trip from Hastings to Hackney.
Stories from Father Thames (see right), selected by writer-in-residence Frances Wilson, will be distributed for guests to read. Each one is on an A4 sheet, laminated, with hand-inked illustrations. Three of these can be read on-line: The FerrymanVoyage into Womanhood and The Death of Any Johnson.
I will give a brief talk about the book in the morning – between Andrew Motion and Dan Cruickshank.
