Leigh fishing fesitval has a new Thames prop.

At the Leigh on Sea fishing festival on Sunday a propeller from a German bomber was on show. It was  brought out of the Thames by Richard Eaves, a local fisherman. It was the third time it had snagged his nets, so he hauled it aboard, not realising it was a complete aluminium propeller, though the exact identity is unknown. Eaves, who heads the local fisherman's co-operative, told The Echo it wasn't thie frist time he had more than fish in his nets. “I have found an airplane wing, the odd mine and a pot from a shipwreck that dated back to 1600. That piece alone could be worth up to £1,000, but I like to keep what I find.”
