Christmas entertainment: love locks on Tower Bridge |
Christmas was a quiet day by the London river. Most of the strollers around the Upper Pool were Japanese or Italian, perhaps taking a break from their hotel meals to see the sights. They didn't have had too much luck with the sights. Most were closed, including the Tower of London, blocking off the riverside walk between Tower Bridge and Customs House, so they had to make their own entertainment, such as snapping love padlocks on Tower Bridge. With luck their hotels were feeding them, for there was nowhere open to eat, except a fish and chip stall that was doing good business by the entrance to the Tower, and a burger van in Potters Field.
Somehow it didn't seem very festive.
